I have never been nervous speaking in front of the public in fact I have had to speak to people all day long in my first career of hairstylist! That was always one on one, so it never felt intimidating. Well this past weekend I rented a booth in the Lincoln/Grimsby local home and garden show. The coordinator of the show asked if I could possibly speak about Images Staged with Flair and about benefits of staging your home. I was a little horrified and surprised when he announced that "yes there is time for you to do a presentation on your staging services"...
My body froze and I started feeling numb!! Not only was I going to speak in front of a large audience but I also had to put together a power point presentation!! Yikes!! The only good thing is that I have a thirteen year old son that out of pity for his old mom, offered his help to show me how to put a power point presentation together.
Well after quite a few changes and attempts I finished the power point and it looked great.... I spoke on Saturday afternoon at 12 noon which was a fantastic time, lots of people around.
The Home-show was a huge success, there was a large number of people who attended and I met some great people to network with but also many leads for future business...
I did my presentation to a good size group of people who seemed like they were listening and interested in what I was saying. I had great positive feed back and I am so glad that I can say that it wasn't so bad after all...
I finally did my first presentation in front of a large group..
