There's 'No Free Launch" at Honeysuckle Beach Anymore! - Hayden Lake, Idaho

The City of Hayden will now charge for launching your water craft at HoneysuHoneysuckle Beach Boat Launchckle Beach. They start collecting launch fees next month (May).

The fee to launch is $6 for Hayden residents and $8 for non-residents. 

Yearly passes can be purchased for $30 for residents and $60 for non-residents.

Launch fees are paid by the "Honor system."  via an on-site Drop Box. Launch users fill out a form and deposit it with their payment into a collection box.

While fees are only in effect from Memorial Day to Labor Day, passes go on sale beginning May 2nd at the Hayden City Hall.

I wonder how many people who have regularly used the boat launch in the past will honor the honor system. I suspect it will be hit and miss.

Pam, I am optimistic it will work, I have seen in some  European countries like ( Austria & Germany) the ride on public transportation is done on an honor system to buy the tickets....and once in a while they inspect and if you were "less than honorable" you get a hefty fine. Very few people get hit with fines since they are "honorable"
