Are YOU a Local Expert for your area? If not it's Time to go FISHING!
I wrote a post back in January of 2010 about The Nantahala River/Rainbow Springs area in Macon County Franklin, NC mainly about how its protected, the fishing rights and a rare salmon run in the Fall every year. It is a unusual area and mostly very private and surrounded by the Nantahala Forestry Lands.
I was working with a very fun nice couple from Alabama back in 2009/2010 that were looking for a second home here in the mountains of Western NC. We were all over Macon County Franklin, NC and over the mountain to Sylva, NC that is normally out of my area but wanted me to travel if I would. We share MLS but its not my territory per say and neither is Nantahala even though its in Macon County where I live.
We ended up buying a wonderful home in the Nantahala Forest Rainbow Springs. Its just up the mountain Hwy. 64 nestled in a community lifestyle of fishing, hiking, rafting, boating and seclusion from city life. Limited private property available due to it being surrounded by US Forestry lands.
It seems since that post here on Active Rain I have become the Local Expert for Nantahala. I have a buyer client who I am still working with that wants to buy either land or a second home only in this area. You have to be very patient because people who buy property up in Rainbow Springs area rarely sell their property. They were working with another agent but the relationship went south and they went fishing for another and found me on here.
I met with another client this week to sell his precious piece of land in Rainbow Springs and he told me he found my local post about the Nantahala Rainbow Springs by Googling on the area and been following me ever since and now I will market his property for sale. He liked that I did the research on this area and blogged about it. He had it up for sale a few years ago with a agent who couldn't answer one easy question when the listing had expired. His question was "What have you done for me to try to sell my property". Seriously, NO answer?
And so the buyers and sellers went Fishing! The End!
