Whatever Happened to Buyers Buying a Home for Lifestyle Only?

By
Real Estate Agent with ERA Elite Group, Realtors

When did the environment change that buyers no longer are considering buying a home based on a lifestyle?

Today, it all seems to be about what I am going to get for my house when I want to sell it?  It's not all about profit, but should be more about your investment.

Let's start thinking about the true reason we want to own a home.

  • How about a comforting place to sleep at night?
  • How about it's where I want to raise my children
  • How about the home is located in a great community and is a place where my family will meet interesting people and my children will have neighborhood friends who will follow them from kindergarten through high school and beyond?

What do you think?

Wow. Buying a house to raise a family in.  I think that is a gret idea. My neighborhood has a few of the original people that built the houses still living there. I bought a starter home first and I think I am going to stay in the one I have now. I have been there for 5 years and have it about the way I want it.

Margo, buying a home is a big decision and many are setting goals and looking forward to being in their dream home.  So understandably they look into whether their home is priced right and if they are going to be building equity or not.  It's our job to establis their needs and help them find that place they can call home and will be a wise investment for their family.
