Moving-are we all on the same page?

Moving is one of the most stressful events in people's lives and how we real estate professionals assist our clients in their journey can have great impact on how they see our profession.

There are times when people have to make a move because they lost a job, got a job in another city, are starting education in another place-predetermined deadlines that make moving a sure thing. Many times the moving is optional to couples and if not fostered by imminent necessity two people most often will feel very different about moving.

When I work with couples they might be mentally and emotionally at different stages in the moving process.

How would different mental stages of the moving process have an effect on real estate professionals?

For one thing you will think you are getting a listing that you will sell when in reality your clients will sabotage the sale.

Let me start with an example.( A )Wife wants to move closer to her family in another state. (B)Husband currently has a well paid job and dislikes wife's family and fears that the family would have an adverse effect on their marriage. They both tell you that they would like to sell their home and they are ready to move. When the offer comes in you encounter resistance and wonder what is going on. It becomes clear to you that both people are not on the same page. You would have saved yourself a lot of time and money by not taking this listing. Questions that I prepare for my clients are there to assist them in identifying if this move is going to happen no matter what, or will not happen because of  A or B-questions that will help both parties determine how they actually feel about the move.

If I know that both parties favor the move but they are at different stages of the moving process I work with each individual based on what state of the process they are in. People's spiritual belief system is cruicial in helping them get answers. If a person is a Christian my strong suggestion is to pray until answers come to them. If they are open to Buddhism then meditating is a great avenue to get answers they have been searching for.

It is cruical to assist each side when you work with couples especilally if they are at different stages of the moving process so that each may proceed at their own pace. There will come the time that all of the pieces of the puzlle fitt together and both sides are on the same page and that is the right time to place the home on the market.

If any on of my colleagues need any help in this area my expertise is available to you.

Universe has answers we just need to listen.
