Nearly 38,000 square feet of private historic homes in Palos Verdes Estates are featured on this year's Homes Tour from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday, April 15 and 16, 2011. The individually owned residences have rarely been open for public viewing since the 1920s - making for a truly unique opportunity.

All three residences, selected because of their historical significance in the early development of the area, were built in the mid to late 1920s. All three are variations of the Spanish Revival architecture - popular in that era - each has its own unique features and colorful history.

Included in the Homes Tour schedule is a short walking tour of Malaga Cove Plaza featuring the Neptune Fountain and Italianate buildings. Other features of the two-day tour are a chance to browse through the art offerings by local artisans, 13 boutiques with everything from children's clothing to furniture and rugs, and a popular "Collectibles" booth located at Olmsted Place and the Malaga Cove Green.

Garden Tickets for the Homes Tour, including an alfresco luncheon provided by three catering establishments in the Plaza-Malaga Cafe, The Ranch Market, and The Yellow Vase, are offered at the pre-sale per person price of $40 for members of the Art Center and $45 for non-members. Tickets sold the days of the tour are $50 each. Tickets are available at the Art Center, 5504 W. Crestridge Rd., Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275, or by calling 310-541-2479. Not a member? Join today.
