Playing in the Rain ~ Abiqua River, Silverton, OR

It has been a wet winter and spring here in Oregon.  People say that we have webbed feet and I'm feeling the web this year for sure.  However, after experiencing the epic summers that we enjoy I find myself with amnesia about the long days of winter and the wet days of spring.  There is nothing like an Oregon summer and I am counting the days and watching the forecast for sunshine.

We had the opportunity to play in the rain this past weekend as we drove out the long and nearly deserted far reaches of North Abiqua to Milk Ranch Road to visit my Mama.  The Abiqua River is RAGING and full of a powerful beauty that you don't see every day.  (Well, Mom does because she drives the road every day...)  We had to stop several times along the way to stand in the rain and marvel at this beautiful river.   My son could hardly believe this is the same place he enjoys swimming in the summer.

We saw a female eagle on the journey but she was quick to fly away while I fumbled with my camera.  DANG IT!

I wish I could provide "scratch and sniff" with the pictures.  Forest ~ river ~ rain is one of the best smells ever.  It is an awe inspiring area full of beauty and a place I feel blessed to call home.

There are currently 34 properties for sale in the Abiqua area that range from $55,000 to $685,000 (20 land listings and 14 home listings) Call your favorite REALTOR® to learn more and be sure to ask for AmeriTitle to handle your title and escrow.  We have a local, Silverton office and we can't wait to welcome you "home."
