Google Answers: Does The Number Of Subdirectories In A URL Affect Its Ranking?

The domain used in a single property Website can impact where the Website appears in the search engines but how much of a difference does the number of levels in the URL make? In other words; does 'www.domain.com/keyword' get higher rankings on 'keyword' than 'www.domain.com/blabla/blabla/keyword'?
