We've interviewed 100's of agents as we've grown 360dwellings Real Estate to the internet powerhouse that it is. There are a few key components to consider when choosing an agent that will work with you on the biggest purchase of your life. Here are things to consider when making such an important decision.
1. Are they full time? Do they have a job other than real estate? As you know this is a full time gig if you are a true professional. The seller is paying your agents salary so hire the best agent you can find. You'll get way more bang for your buck with someone who is available for you based on your schedule.
2. How Long in Real Estate? You don't want anyone with less than 3 years experience. I didnt know anything back in the early days and I am still shocked that people hired me. With that being said you may want to be warry of folks with more than 25 years experience. Are they still driven? Do they use technology? Be sure your realtor can keep up. The good homes go quick.
3. Professional? Do they write well composed emails that diplay a professional image? Do they dress nicely? Do they have a nice car? Get a sloppy agent and get a sloppy transaction.
4. Buyers Agreement? Don't sign any agreements with your agent until you are ready to make an offer on a property. A good agent should be earning your business through the entire transaction. Sometimes agents seem good at first and then once you sign a buyers agency they go dark, you can't reach tem, etc. Make them earn your business every day.
5. Tech Savey? Will your agent be able to find that perfect home for you the minute it comes to market. The good deals go quickly and you want to make sure you don't miss out. Make sure you research your agent online, read reviews, see their Facebook. Use technology to find that perfect agent.
