Trees, Lowes & Earth Day
in Ventura, California
Lowes, across the nation, is celebrating Earth Day by giving away a million trees.
All you have to do is show up this Saturday, April 23 to get yours (while supply lasts).
In our area, the Lowes store is located at 500 South Mills Road, in Ventura. Their store hours on Saturday are 6 a.m.- 10 p.m.
I spoke to the Garden Department and was told that the tree for giveaway in our area is a small pine.

This is a great way to celebrate Earth Day and also a great way to bring the information home to your children. It might also provide a teaching moment on the how to care for a young sapling.
Some useful information may be found at Master Gardener website.
If you happen to be looking for a great house to put that young sapling next to and watch it grow, then I can help you with that too!

I hope they all planted. How cool if a million trees get planted there on one day. I love trees. My lot is quite wooded... I only cleared what I had to clear for drive, house, septic ect... I enjoy the shade in summer and the sun in winter too.
Good advice Sandi. I wish we had a Lowes or a Home Depot here. We have a Menards and I love it but a little competition would be great. On a different note I have to say I have a friend here by the name of Ron Nicholes. The USAF brought him here many years ago and I'd say fortunately for us he stayed here after retirement. Any relation that you know of?
Yes, it would really be nice if they all got planted ~Tammy. It must be nice to live in a wooded area. My area is quite urban.
Hi Bob~ Thanks for stopping by. Sorry, no I have no relatives that were in USAF and settled out by your way.
