A post I ought to share with everyone. It's always one of those days where you suddenly reflect at the end of the day and realixe how blessed you are and that God works in many ways to keep us safe. Then again, everything happens for a reason. Thanks Shannon for reminding me how blessed I am.

One of THOSE Days

Today was one of those days. You know the kind...from the moment you wake up something just feels off with the world.

It started early this morning. My kids do not have school as it is spring break here in Richmond. But, someone forgot to tell my kids as they woke up at 6am. Cranky. Some break!

To distract them (okay, to get them off of my nerves!) I took them to our local YMCA. We get loaded up in the car and arrive only to find there had been a water break. The gym was open but the kids club room was drying out so all the kids were in one SMALL area. I took one look at the room and knew I could not leave them there to accumulate all the germs that HAD to be going around with what looked to be about 50 kids in one tiny space.

We came home, hung out, and decided we would head to Williamsburg for some retail therapy at the outlets. We got dressed, packed into the car, and drove about 20 minutes on 295 when...YUP...a FLAT TIRE. My husband pulled over and I watched nervously as he changed the tire while 18 wheelers went buzzing by rattling the inside of the car with each pass. At one point I looked into the mirror and saw a car was zooming right towards us on the side of the road. Lucky for us this car realized he was not in a lane and got over. YIKES!

We then headed to Goodyear and waited while they replaced my tire. $140 isn't too bad, but it still stinks as we just had the tires replaced on my car a few months ago. Oh well, no one said life is fair!

After a long day and some more cranky kids, we came home, had a pizza and called it a day. The funny thing is we opened today's mail to find an application for Triple A. I think the world may be trying to tell us something!

Sitting here now I am reflecting on how wrong the day felt, and yet it was so right. First of all, I am very lucky to have a supportive husband to go through all of life's little games with. He really is a special person. (Had I been driving alone and had a flat tire...well, lets just say I would have been out on the road showing a little leg, lol!) Second, I am well aware that God works in mysterious ways and maybe, just maybe, we had a flat tire to spare us from something worse down the road. Finally...well, kids will be kids and are entitled to be cranky from time to time and I would take a cranky kid ANY DAY over no kid at all. I truly am blessed and never want to take that for granted! (However, I am looking forward to an adult day tomorrow full of appointments and house hunting adventures!)

I hope you all had a wonderful day...and if you didn't, I hope you see the blessings in the day anyway!
