Maps, Plans and Adaptations
Okay, now I really have to go!! Judy's blog is so right on. Does anyone say that anymore! It was the first thing that came to mind. Thanks to Yogi, John, the Beatles and Judy. :)
Maps, Plans and Adaptations
As children, people ask us what we want to be when we grow up. In high school, we're asked what we'll study in college. In college, we're asked what we plan to do with that degree (with varying amounts of skepticism, based on whether we're studying anthropology or accounting). We get our first jobs, and suddenly the questions become more about our five year plan, or our ten year plan.
There's a school of thought that goes along with this admittedly comical - yet astute - quote from Yogi Berra:
"If you don't know where you are going, you might wind up someplace else."
And then again, there's the line from the John Lennon song:
"Life is what happens to you / While you're busy making other plans"
So what's the answer? It seems to me that all we can do is to plan, and then adapt to circumstances, and plan some more, then adapt some more. Over time, it all adds up to a life well-lived, with any luck.
"And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make." *
May your Wednesday be a happy one, filled with life's abundance.
