Texas Wins Its Independence in 18 minute battle!
Well, it DID happen a FEW years ago (April 21, 1836) But it seems like just yesterday.
On April 21, Texas will celebrate San Jacinto Day. This final battle of the Texas Revolution took place at the Battle of San Jacinto on April 21, 1936. (This date is an official State of Texas holiday,).
This annual festival includes a re-enactment on the site of the battle. It will be re-enacted by the Sabine Volunteers, from East Texas. This group has appeared on the History Channel in a documentary "THE RE-ENACTORS OF SAN JACINTO."
