The best property in Dobbs Ferry, NY is not for sale.

Besides its great community spirit, its closeness to Manhattan, and its "small town" feel, one of my favorite things about the place I live is the Waterfront Park.  Dobbs Ferry is one of the towns located right on the Hudson River, and the scenic park provides an awesome spot to read a book, catch some rays, sketch the scene north to the Tappan Zee bridge, or south to NYC and the George Washington bridge, and picnic.

I was there today, taking in the mid-April Spring scene and I snapped a few pictures.  I'm attaching a few of my favorites.  Enjoy them!

The wind is evident in the first - both on the river surface, and by the tree branches.windy april 2011 day in dobbs ferry

The only other inhabitants were enjoying themselves as well.

Yes, it is a wonderful area right there.  What a lovely day  A lot of great restaurants in the area that overlook the Hudson, too.  Would love to hang out there more.  Nice pictures.

Hi Kathleen,

I did not realize Dobbs Ferry was so close to the GWB. So beautiful by the river! Great photos.

Debbie - I have often grabbed my book or my ipod and just gone to sit for an hour or so - I especially love the boats and barges!  And yes, there are nice restaurants - although only one in Dobbs Ferry that is right on the water near the park... Nice place to sit to watch the sunset!

Kathleen, Great photos.  I feel just like I am enjoying a nice warm day on the river instead of sitting in a snowstorm at my mom's property in Wyoming.

Dawn - thanks for stopping by!  Today's not quite as windy; I'm wondering if I should go take another picture to compare.  :-)  Hmmm, I just might do that.

Gary - brrr, I'm cold just thinking about that.  I was so sick of snow this year - I am thrilled it's spring time!
