WORST REAL ESTATE PROPERTY PHOTOS EVER CONTEST

By
Real Estate Agent with NextHome Mountain Realty

WORST PROPERTY PICTURE by A REALTOR® CONTEST! My sis is moving to Port St. Lucie, FL. For fun I was searching for homes in that area and came across this listing. It occurred to me that some realtors need LOTS of help in taking photos of homes. Some don't have an "eye" and some just do not care enough about the client or their property to try. Maybe... I should start a business in that, taking photos for fellow REALTORS®....

I found a lot of really awful shots. But I laughed out loud looking at the main pic of this home. ALL of this REALTORS® pics were sad. One worse than another. Nothing on a straight angle. I am dizzy!

So I thought I'd start a contest to see if y'all have seen worse shots than this. This contest is also on my facebook page, Judy Anne Wagner, Weichert, REALTORS® Weber-Hodges Group, Boone, NC

If you are talented with photography and wish to give us some tips, that would be appreciated here as well.

There might even be a prize for the winning WORST REALTOR PROPERTY PHOTO ever. Please, Keep 'em clean! Have a blessed spring and safe weekend.

No, seriously, that would make a great site/group/wall/whatever.  Tried to find your FB page and couldn't, but I love these kind of pictures!  Can you even imagine? And the laziness of sitting in your car!  They should be FIRED :)

Can't believe that was an actual MLS pic.  I guess it goes to show there are some really lazy agents out there.

I laughed too, but it's really not funny.  I have taken a photo or two like this, and found my reflection in a mirror on a photo too.  But publish it in MLS? Never

Hi Mimi. Try this link:

Great Idea!

How would we go about starting an Active Rain page where over time all REALTORS could post pics they come across. Perhaps we could comment on how that particular REALTOR might improve that shot.

Oft' times I use pictures I originally take to show the client how cluttered their rooms are and how bad the curb appeal is. As a stager, it's the most difficult line to walk trying to get "personal loved items or collectibles" out of a home. I just had my best client ever, who did all I asked/suggested and more. Even replaced carpet with laminate wood floor. The original pictures I took on my initial visit to her home before I listed it, really got her attention. Photos magnify flaws. She worked hard and we retook pictures a week later. Amazing difference.

I digress.....

Anyone who might like to start a REALTOR® blooper page, let me know. Maybe some of the lazy REALTORS who are too sorry to get out of their car to take even the MAIN MLS picture can learn a thing or two. And perhaps that change would boost the public opinion of us as a profession and show them how hard most of us really work.

And yes, Jeanne NOT REALLY FUNNY.

And Cherie, don't we see lazy REALTORS® every day. makes me want to scream. But all I do is scratch my head in wonder. Working 60 hours a week, going that extra mile, and hanging on by my fingernails. But still love this job!

And Thanks Lew. Hope we get some laughs at a time when gas prices are killing us as a profession. Just glad I own a trucking fleet!

Judy - I would love to do that!  It is such a fascination to me to look at these pictures and scratch my head and say, "WHAT were they THINKING?"  As a stager also, I have been known to make many a bed, put many a dish in the dishwasher, hang up towels, clear the kitchen counters, slide dirty underwear out of the way :)

I have a staging packet that I give to my clients when I take a listing, and then part of my services AFTER they have read it is to go back and give them two hours to give them 'vision' of what we want it to look like.  It is always a dramatic improvement, and almost always makes for a quick sale.  But when I see video with clutter and unmade beds and boxes and junk everywhere, I can't help but wonder if anyone thinks they will get people to come and look.

I'm totally on board for this!  Think it is a great idea!
