Goodbye Bay Area Renaissance Festival

Last Weekend the Renaissance Festival had their final weekend in the Tampa Bay. The Village of Fittleworth was recreated at the Tampa Museum of Science and Industry (MOSI). From freshly brewed beer to Fencing and jousting to Henna Tatoos to the Queen's Royal Tea, it was an annual event that was not to be missed. Many folk adopted the costume of the period and really got into the spirit of the time. Check out the Comedy Act by the Washing Well Wenches, notorious for making Men act like Fools!

Jennifer, there are so many people really into this stuff.  So many costumes and contests, it's like a sub culture.  I am looking forward to next year.

Hi Ann, It was a blast. I had my two granddaughters with me and we all laughed at how crazy they were.

Hi Jeanne,

The Renaissance Festival comes to our area in September.  It is really fun; the acrobats (if that is what you call them) that make these human pyramids that seem to defy gravity are my favorite.  Last time, our son brought home a baby dragon complete with a birth certificate (it was an anole).

Lisa, Funny about the Anole.  When I first moved here I couldn't believe I was seeing so many in the wild.  We used to sell them in our pet shops, along with other reptiles that I see every day in my yard.  

Loved the Festival, looking forward to next year.
