A friend sent me this map of Australia so I don't know its original source or who to credit for it but I thought you would all still enjoy the sense of humor, other than it was created before Steve Irwin tragically died by stepping on a stingray. The rest of it is pretty accurate, and from a real estate perspective, it identifies a great opportunity for housing development in the large section titled 'nothing'.
I am sure you may have seen the recent Oprah shows that were done in Australia, it was a great boost to the economy and I am sure gave many Americans the idea to put Australia on their bucket list. Oprah managed to tour just before a series on natural disasters which included cyclones, floods, earthquake and drought, so Australia really is a land of extremes.
If on the other hand you would like to see another perspective on Australian that Oprah didn't touch on, then I would recommend watching John Jarrett in the movie Wolf Creek. It's probably the scariest movie set in the Australian outback ever made, and while you may not have heard of before, if you like a good scare, then this is a must see film.
