Not your average ordinary woman as I have been told

I have to smile when I get told by guys that I am not your average ordinary woman. Don't know if that is a good thing or a bad thing but it doesn't matter because I am who I am and I think I am OK just being ME. I got called that by one of my brothers and again this morning by a friend who I e-mailed a pic of my NEW toy. See I just think I am just a woman who does what she has to do to get things done.

Nothing out of the ordinary with that in this womans head. I am so not a frilly dress up type of gal. I wasn't a cheerleader or prom queen and while those are nice. That is not me. I may be eccentric and not do my nails and have my toenails painted.

But I can guarantee you I don't and am grateful I do not have a male brain. (Sorry guys but I don't want a male brain) According to guys we have complex brains and they have simple brains. God wired us differently but whether we are men or women I think we all want the same thing in life and that is to be accepted and loved for who we are. I am not a high heels kind of gal but more of a tomboy but when I go to church or a special occasion I wear either dress slacks and a blouse not a suit and tie. Sometimes even a skirt or dress. So what does an average ordinary woman do. Apparently not this. This is my latest toy.

Like I said I needed to get things done and when you can't find anybody that does it then I find a way to do it myself. The way I have always been and probably always will be. That just makes me ME. I am not afraid to get my hands dirty but I clean up pretty decent for a tomboy. Smiling.

Kind of that hybrid best of both worlds woman you are Sharon with that tomboy self. Very cool. Hey rototillers are needed to break up that hard soil so glad you got the right tool. Don't worry, I think the world needs more tomboys. Painting nails is overrated anyway. You're just fine just as you are.

Sharon - we're birds of a feather!   My brother, at the Easter Dinner table yesterday, told me I was an "atypical female".  I misheard and was hurt.  Everyone else understood and had great fun in explaining to me why I was NOT a typical female but an atypical female.    Again, 6 older brothers, pretty hard not growing up as a tomboy and I am proud to say I still am (but with painted toenails!)

Have fun with your new toy - let her rip!

I am a girly girl, wear high heeled shoes, was a cheerleader and an image consultant. It's not just you tomboy girls who like manly toys. I love nothing better than a couple of hours with a power tool. Smiling! :)

Susan-Somehow I had a feeling we were birds of a feather. I painted my fingernails years ago but never my toenails but I did have my nieces two girls do it once and they had great fun painting them all different colors. I grew up with 4 brothers and didn't have slumber parties or any of that I grew up in the family business and worked since I was 10 so no time to be a little dress up girl. I played with army men and shot them down with a rubber band. It is hot out so I am going to assemble it and do it tonite.

Donna-I enjoy getting dressed up if I go somewhere special but with back problems the high heels wouldn't cut it. I go for comfort not style. I sold cosmetics several years ago so I am jack of all trades but much more of a tomboy than a girly girl. The world needs both. Thank you for your comment and have fun with your power tools.

Mary-I will be right over after I plant my 100 bulbs. It is easier than a shovel and a hoe but it still beats me up. I might not be able to move tomorrow. Smiling back

Sharon, Glad to hear you are not trying to be something that goes against your grain.  I do marvel at some women who can dress to the nines and dance in high heels and are in place all the time.  Me, earthy, few frills, what you see is what you get.  With those few occasions to dress up. And I'm lucky to have a man who loves me this way. Sounds like we have more in common than our hobby of birds.  Wish you were closer I'd barter for the use of your rototiller!  Have fun with your new toy! There are probably more of us out there than we would like to admit, Sharon. The non-frilly, I can get it done myself type of gal. I have been ostracized from my in-law group because I don't conform. Hey----their loss!

Wanda-Thank you and that is the way I have always been so I will keep on keeping on.

Thank you Lou.

Gloria-While I will dress up for special occasions I have to wear sneakers because of a back problems. I am who I am and proud of it. I am glad we have many things in common. Less frills doesn't mean less thrills. If I was closer we would definitely barter.

Toni-I don't know why women wouldn't want to admit that they are few frills. We are special and God loves us. I don't conform to anyone standards. Definitely their loss.
