Motivational Monday: Finding Serenity

By
Home Stager

This week's Motivational Monday post reminds us we can't possibly change everything, but we always have the power to change one thing - and that something is....

"If you don't like something, change it.

If you can't change it, change your attitude.

~Maya Angelou

This quote brings to mind the Serentiy Prayer....

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,

Courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

Happy Monday.  I hope you find serenity today!

Well change came to me whether I liked it or not. Cost cutting of expenses had me give up my private office space to now work out of my home, it was hard, tears came and went - but this is not the end of the road. And if I read your motivational message - my attitude should be how this change will benefit me in more ways than one. I have cut my expenses and driving times down, all my files are in one location, plus it is quieter here to work, can even save lunch expenses by eating here. Attitude is everything - although I had a beautiful private office there. I will miss it.

Hi Karen - I am always truly amazed at the wonderful things that Maya Angelou gives us to think about. She had such a tough childhood, and has managed to create a beautiful life in spite of that. Thanks for sharing this with us today.

Karen more people need to have the attitude expressed in that quote.  To many people just sit around complaining instead of taking action against what they are unhappy about.  No one is going to do it for us if we are not willing to first do it for ourselves.

Karen, both are very inspiring. I feel your pain about the office, letting go of things like that are often so hard, but you did it. I admire you greatly for taking that step.

The wisdom to know the difference, now there is the hardest part of the whole thing! And you had the wisdom.

Karen- the Serenity Prayer is one of my favorites and if we learn to follow it would remove so much of the stress in our lives.

Karen ~  Wonderful thoughts to begin the week after Easter.  Stress is such a huge factor in our industry and I can think of no better way to keep things in perspective that to utter the Serenity Prayer; thank you.
