If you are looking for a fun day at the beach, or even looking for a great place to water ski during the summer months, then Lincoln City, Oregon is the place for you. You can head to the beach, the outlet stores, or even go fishing or skiing on Devils Lake.

Lincoln City has something for everyone when it comes to your beach visit. As you walk the beach you can find many treasures, and it truly is finder's keepers. The wonderful part about the beach at Lincoln City is how clean it is compared to most other beaches I've seen. This is due to in part the cities trash plan, that says if you bring a bag of beach trash to the visitor's center, you can be entered into a drawing for a free glass float. (This is a pretty cool thing if you ask me, and really does help the community.)

If you have kids that are into trivia, take them to the D river for some pictures. They can tell their friends they have pictures of them in front of the shortest river in the world!

If you sit on the beach on any dry day, year round, you can see some of the most amazing kites you will ever see in your life! This city has many kite stores, and once you get to the beach and watch these things, you will be amazed that the kite you had as a kid, was even called a kite compared to these things. Check out the annual kite festival to see even more amazing kites all at the same time. This town is so kid friendly, even the casino in town has a child care facility that your kids won't want to leave, while you spend some time gambling.

Then there are all the tide pool areas that have so much small sea life, that if you don't watch you just may miss it! Hermit Crabs, Sea Stars, Sand Shrimp, Sea Cucumbers, and Sea Anemones, just to name of few of the creatures you can see on any given day of the year. During the summer months, or winter months, if you look out on the horizon or take a boat out on the ocean, you can do some whale watching and get some amazing photos of the beautiful large creatures of the deep.

Devils Lake is one of my favorite lakes in Oregon and from time to time they still have boat races on the lake. But I remember them from the past when almost every weekend during the summer they would have one. For those of you who know devils lake and used to go for their boat races, my grandparent's cabin was the one with the clock on top. If your aren't into the boat races and are looking for a place to fish, then this lake can also be a lot of fun for you. Just sitting on the dock and enjoying the day or stay in the Devils Lake Campground for awhile and have some real fun. If you have kids or are even a kid at heart, then Devils Lake's Regatta Park features one of the most amazing play structures around. It is bigger than any I've ever seen anywhere, and prying the kids' away from it can be an adventure in itself.

When you are ready to wind down and just need a break to do some shopping, the Tanger Outlet Stores are great, and if you have AAA card, you even get an additional 10% off their already great prices. I have to go there at least twice a year to get new shoes and every time I have saved at least 23% over the best price I have been able to find online. But, just a warning, make sure your credit card is paid before you go, or you will run out of money before you are ready to leave. (If you like salt water taffy, you have to check out Sweet Delights.)

Now, before you head back home, you do need to stop at my favorite little place in Lincoln City for dinner the 60's café just off highway 101, but you will need to bring your appetite. Because if you don't you will be taking food home and for the record even if you do arrive hungry, you still will be (more than likely) be taking food home with you.

For more information on the Lincoln City, and the wonderful Oregon Coast, I suggest you give me a call or  contact the Lincoln City area chamber of commerce.
