I recently had to do a visual inspection of the exterior of an apartment community in the Sacramento area. Often times I see things that need to be addressed that the management does not know exists. For example: Sagging gutters, sidewalk trip hazards, or broken fence boards. The fun part of the inspection is finding the uncommon things and getting a picture of it.
On this last inspection, I discovered a home-made antenna on the back of the unit. It faces the adjoining property, so unless you had a reason to go behind this building, you (or the management) would never see it.
Yes, those are aluminum cans taped to an aluminum bar with some sort of cable wire running to the top.
I have no report as to whether or not the thing works. I do know that management has asked that it be removed.
