3 EASY Ways to use Your iPad in your Business

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with Top Producer Systems

Engagement and relationships are what make our business tick. Before we can write contracts and close, we've got to engage and collaborate. But it's more than just being a part of the transaction - you’ve got to deliver an experience that today's consumers will remember. Our challenge is finding tools that support that, that make our lives easier, but also make us more efficient.

Hello, iPad!

Since getting mine, it hasn't been out of my sight. It's gorgeous, but it also lets me share information in both an emotional and functional manner – a type of experience that's near and dear to our hearts in real estate. But what really makes the iPad special is that you don’t have to be an IT administrator to use it.

Better yet – with the release of the iPad 2, which comes complete with front AND rear-facing cameras – the device truly is a Real Estate workhorse.

You can now prospect, engage consumers, snap photos, deliver listing presentations, service clients, write contracts and store files on this business-class tablet workhorse. The iPad has a growing library of real estate ready apps available in the iTunes store, and with that in mind, I’ve shared three ways you can start using your iPad in your business today.

1. Engage consumers and turn prospects into clients. REALTOR.com® has a new iPad app – and this app is designed with lead generation in mind. Your clients have the ability to explore neighborhoods, scout locations and view and save homes – on a platform that’s as engaging as it is fun. Each trace of their finger on the polished glass surface brings your clients that much closer to realizing a dream. For you, the app allows for seamless collaboration by delivering you all of the requests for information and appointment requests from your clients.

Use the app’s unique “Send to Agent” feature to register as your clients’ exclusive agent and have all of their inquiries and leads sent straight to YOU.

Takeaway: Get the app. Show your clients how to register you as their agent. Cultivate your clients. To get started, visit marketing.Realtor.com/tablet to download the free app today!

2. Digitize your Listing Presentation. Imagine the contrast: Your competition, producing a 3-ring binder crammed full with a flutter of papers. You, with an interactive presentation delivered elegantly on your iPad. Deliver a rich presentation. Impress with an interactive experience tailored to YOUR seller. Watch as they use their fingers to glide through your presentation, pausing to view the photos of their home you took today. A truly immersive experience you can leverage to WIN the listing.

Takeaway: Get the iPad listing presentation. Customize it to your seller’s property. Take original photos of the listing and drop them into the presentation to create a comprehensive, digital listing package. Don’t have a listing presentation, or need one that’s iPad ready? No problem! Get yours at: Marketing.realtor.com/tablet

3. Start a conversation at an Open House. Forget the archaic guest register. Grab your iPad instead, and open up your listing on REALTOR.com®. Engage your walk-through traffic with this interactive 21st century “property flyer.” Talk about the salient features of the home and the market. Tap the screen and open up the Open Home Pro app and collect your walk-in contact information, right on your iPad. And Open Home Pro even allows you to export your contact data right into Top Producer 8i. Now that’s engaging and delivering in the 21st century.

Takeaway: Enhance your listing on Realtor.com to create a rich digital experience. Get the Open Home Pro app and capture walk-in contact information with 21st century style. Stay engaged by exporting the data and and follow up with a system like Top Producer 8i. To learn more about TopProducer and Market Snapshot, and turning prospects into clients, visit: Marketing.realtor.com/tablet

These are just some ways to use your iPad. REALTOR.com® is also providing a suite of materials to help turn your iPad intor your business iPowerhouse, and most of them are FREE, including a list of the 10 Must Have Apps to run your for Real Estate business

Are you thinking of getting an iPad? Are you using one already? What's your experience been?

I am in the process of adding real estate apps to my IPad.  I do love it.  My listing presentation is slowing coming together on my IPad.  I love the ope house app. Thanks for posting valuable information.

I LOVE my ipad and already find it has streamlined my presentations. I always give the other party permission to tell me they are reaching max overload with looking at the gorgeous slides and interactive "live" data, however. Some folks want to take it all in and some would rather just hear me talk from experience. Either way the ipad got the ball rolling!

Thanks for the post, but it would be nice if the information was available without a sales pitch from Realtor.com.

I wanted to look at the guides on my wife's iPad to evaluate the need for a second unit for myself. Now I have to put up with a salesman before seeing the tools. Not the way I want to do business.

Hi Virginia - I've heard great things about the Xoom. I also like it's size, seems like it would be easy to cart around. This post isn't meant to suggest that the iPad is the only device, it just happens to have the widest use and the most apps available right now. But of course that could change!

Debb - Welcome to the club!

Evelyn - for additional inspiration for your listing presentation, you can get an iPad-ready presenation from REALTOR.com here.

Sarah - How long is your presentation? Do you have a recommended length that you think works well? Or does it vary?

Donald - take a look at the "area scout" feature of the REALTOR.com app... I think it's a pretty nifty conversation-starter with prospects you've just met at an open house, and it's SO QUICK, so there is no fumbling as we get it open

Realtor.com has great ideas and a Top Producer just visited our office to show off some of its features. I think they're great tools and may have to bit the bullet and buy an iPad.

Do I assume that the ipad allows connection to TP 8i's functions as though I were on my laptop?

Anyone out there on the MRIS listings system...does it work for that too?

Thanks for the help.

@Roger for the most part Roger, yes!  Everthing you need to do with contacts is accessable. Email, and marketing flyers and postcards will not work but try it out from your perspective and let us know what you think!!

Great post - stopped by because Joni reblogged it.  Good ideas - especially for the younger crowds.  At my last open house, I had so many "young-uns" through who had their ipad in hand.  Guess I really do need to learn how to do more than turn on my computer, LOL.
