weather radarHere Comes The Rain Again!

It's been an April for the record books in the Cincinnati area.  Day after day, rain seems to be falling.  We've been fortunate, minimal damage and not suffering the tornado damage of our Southern brethren.

But the rain keeps adding up.  Almost 12" so far, the rainiest April on record, and we've still got a few days in the month left, and that radar photo....well that's here in no time!

And we're not that far for setting the area record for all time rainiest month ever!  We're currently 3rd on the all time Cincinnati list, and another two inches of the wet stuff will make April the new all time champ!  No sign of any animals going two by two into an ark, so I think we'll be okay! :)

Of course, there have been some local consequences.  So far, Cirque du Soleil has had to cancel 7 of their 34 scheduled shows.  River Downs raceway did NOT open on schedule for the first time in 30 years.  Anyone living on the flood plains has had to be concerned, and there has been some minor flooding as expected!

And our yard?  Breaking out the mower has been nigh impossible, and we have four flats of flowers and one dogwood tree to plant when weather and our schedule permits.

We're hopeful that the weather is cooperative for Saturday as our church works to build the walls for five Habitat for Humanity homes!

But for now, here comes the rain again!

Charita, Annie has one of the most remarkable voices ever.  Have a few of her CDs to play when the mood strikes.

Cynthia, That song makes my lists for favorites!

We received some much needed rain last night....But we still could use a little more!  Can't complain about the Sunshine, blue sky and 80 degree days tho'...Spring Break will be over soon, and then it can rain all it wants (within reason).

Amy, I don't think we've gotten to 80 yet.  Still keeping the windbreaker handy for most mornings.

The weather this year has been wacko all around the country.  It's bizarre.

I do remember yrs ago when the Ohio river got very high and wide and all those streets were closed.  You could see the traffic lights just above the water.  Very weird.  My boss couldn't live in his place for a couple of weeks.  I forget what year - maybe 1997 or 1998.

Debbie, We were here when that happened.  The Licking River kicked tail in Kentucky.  Always strange seeing the steps of the Serpentine Wall just disappear.

Liz & Bill - Please, Please, Please send some of that rain down this way.  Yesterday morning it started to rain and I was sooo happy that the grass will finally be green again, but it stopped within 10 minutes.
