My favorite summertime restaurant is Joe's Garage Restaurant & Bar in Minneapolis, MN

I love, love, love Joe's and here is why:

 

1) It's hip, it's eclectic, it's fun.

 

2) They have the best burgers in the world.

3) They have the BEST mash potatoes that are a meal in and of themselves....REALLY!

 

4) They have the best roof top patio with views of The Basilica Cathedral and the Minneapolis skyline.

Now more about the potatoes. You can build your own Mash Potatoes and here is my favorite:

Two Scoops of Mash Potatoes with Red Thai Sauce and Broccoli.

It just doesn't get any better. The spiciness of the Thai sauce, the crunchiness of the perfectly done broccoli, the yummy potatoes...need I say more.

I know I should branch out more but here is what my husband and I do almost every time we go there:

He orders the burger. I order the potatoes. We share. THEN we order dessert.

If you live in the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area and haven't tried Joe's Garage Restaurant & Bar you are missing out!!

Haven't been to Minneapolis in a while, but that looks like an awesome place.  Love the rooftop eating with a heck of a view:-)

You need to Chuck. AND ORDER THE POTATOES!! lol

If you make it back this way Michelle....in the summer, you gotta check out Joe's.

Thanks Jeff and Heather. Outdoor seating is a big deal here since we are cooped inside so many months. :)

Shar - Oh man, that burger looks good!  Hey, where' the photo of the mash?!!  Yes, I can just imagine myself sitting on that roof top deck with a nice buger, mashed potatoes and a margarita in hand.  Ahhh, the lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer!

Shar - I can see why you love this place - I'm salivating just looking at that hamburger and now I know what I'm eating tonight. Love the outside seating - I always look for places like this to eat in the summer - so nice to be out in the sunshine and fresh air!

It is a great place to hang out Peg on a warm summer evening.

DO NOT GO TO JOE'S IF YOU ARE ON A DIET! Forgot that warning Janice. :)

I asked for a photo of the mashed potatoes Sally but I didn't get one. Maybe he felt people would storm the place. I should have taken a pic myself when I was there a couple weeks ago. I'll be heading there again soon so I'll take my camera and then update my post. :)

I know Kristine, it has been a loonnnngggg winter and a cool rainy Spring so looking forward to being outdoors myself.

Shar, you did mention you do enjoy spicy food!    Joe's Garage has a uniquie name, not one you would connect with a restaurant!     You mentioned dessert --- what kinds???    :-)

I'm not a huge beef eater either Sharon but every once in a while you just gotta have a great burger!

Their homemade ice cream sandwich is the best Joan! Oh man....I got to go there again soon. It's been two weeks already.

WOW -  that's our kind of place too.  My husband would go crazy over the potatoes and I would be drooling over the beef!   I love rooftop patios;  reminds me of Europe!
