BPO's aint what they used to be.

Remember when we did BPO's for lenders who wanted a second opinion or for lenders who were forclosing?

Since Feb I done a ton of BPO's for a company who commissions them for lenders who are thinking about buying the loan.   A prudent idea considering all the bad paper floating around.

I've always made it a point to keep current on inventory & pricing in my area; now I have company who pays me to do my sales research.

Today I got a solicitation for another company who wants the same service.  I don't yet know what they pay but I expect it's in line with the other outfit.   The companies soliciting me pay about 2/3 of what a BPO once paid but I'm using it to keep current on inventory and area pricing so it works for me.

bob, I have seen a big increase in the number of BPO's out there.  I would love to do more though.

I do alot of BPOs. Last year I scaled back a bit and found that I was losing touch with values in some neighborhoods. I now do about 12-20 per month for 5-6 preferred companys. I agree that it helps with market knowledge.

getting paid something for something you have to do anyway isn't such a bad thing.

Bob,

That's my thinking exactly reguarding BPO's. The more I do, the more I learn about a certain market.

If I have time to do BPO's my advertising isn't working. lol. I get offers but when you concider the amount of time and energy that goes into one, I will leave them to the guys who enjoy it.
