In my previous blog, I discussed that Quartz was the countertop of choice for me. However, after a few quotes, further research is needed.
After 2 quotes, one from Sears and another from C & G Marble and Granite, I am just as confused as ever. C & G's quote was significantly lower than Sears. However, with C & G, which only offered Granite, I would need to hire a plumber to reattach sink and dishwasher. With Sears that was included. Sears came with a nice assortment of both Granite and Quartz, and yes the Quartz was less expensive than the Granite, but still more expensive than the Granite offered by C & G. The other surprise was that the Granite from Sears came permanently sealed. My "research" did not show that as an option. And the difference in price was about $1,000.
I plan to do a little more investigating, to find the differences in Granite between the 2 companies, and also to find another quote for Quartz. Stay tuned for my next update on the granite vs quartz battle.
