We Are Okay In Alabama......But Many Are Not!

By

We are relieved to have survived the tornados that tore through Alabama yesterday, but we are just numb knowing what has happened around us.  Sheer devastion just a few miles away.

Lucky to have power, we watched them live on television....in Cullman, in Tuscaloosa, and as a monster one approached Birmingham.  I've never been one to get nervous during tornado warnings but this time I was terrified.  We have family in Tuscaloosa County, Gardendale, Trussville, Hoover, Cahaba Heights, and it was amazing that it missed them all.  We live about 20 miles south of downtown Birmingham and had a few that were headed in our direction but we were spared as well.

Here is a video of the Tuscaloosa tornado that grew even larger on it's way to Birmingham and then continued on into Georgia.

PLEASE KEEP THE FAMILIES WHO HAVE LOST LOVED ONES AND PROPERTY IN YOUR PRAYERS.

Ann-That is HUGE. I am glad you are OK and will say prayers for those who were less fortunate. The weather has been wild this Spring. Yesterday and today has had high winds and heavy downpours and even tornado warnings which supposedly we never have had in this area. Be safe

Ann I just watched the news and it's horrific. Unbelievable destruction and with so many people loosing their lives. So very sad.  My prayers will be with all of those families.  I am glad to hear you and yours are alright. And thanks for letting us know - take care.

Hi Ann, the sheer force and size of this tornado is terrifying.  My thoughts and prayers go out to those who lost loved ones, friends, neighbors and their homes.  So glad to hear that you are OK.

Good grief Ann, I didn't know how bad it was until watching the evening news Hawaii time.  Are you still OK?  I'm sure you must have many friends who are not OK.  Clearly it was a hugely devistating storm.  Let us know you're still OK.

Aloha Nui
