Picasso: Masterpieces from the Musée National Picasso, Paris

On Friday, April 22,2011, Dolores and I visited the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond, Virginia to view the Picasso exhibit. This is an outstanding world class exhibit and is well worth your trip if you enjoy works by Picasso. If you have not visited this museum, plan to spend a full day and you will not regret the experience. See the website for much more information on the museum.

The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts proudly announces a landmark exhibition in honor of its 75th anniversary, Picasso: Masterpieces from the Musée National Picasso, Paris. VMFA is the only East Coast venue for the exhibition's seven-city international tour. The exhibition, which will be on view from February 19 through May 15, 2011, is co-organized by the Musée National Picasso, Paris and the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. Tickets are available now.

Roy,

I wish the show was closer to my Silicon Valley home.  My wife and I like Picasso and would enjoy it.  In fact, I see a picture of Picasso (see the attached famous Robert Doisneau photo and check Picasso's hands), and Picasso's pictures daily, as the walls and shelves of my house are (too) full of art and art-stuff. (The feather butterfly in the lower right corner was added as a stick-on by my wife who does this sort of thing to everything.)

Where do you get all the flower photos you attach to comments?  Do you take the photos yourself?  I like the the photos and the flowers.  I hope you don't mind my putting such a large jpg into my comment.  Delete it if it slows downloads.

Good evening Tony, Darcy and Judi. Sorry, Judi. They did not allow photographs of the special exhibit. The picture I used was from a previous visit to the museum. 

Photographs are allowed in their permanent collections and there are lots of pictures in my Facebook albums.
