Anyone looking for a way to increase their bathroom storage needs to see this project. It started with our kitchen lower cabinets. It turned out so well, making easy access for my pots, pans, and plastic storage that I asked my husband to figure out how to remake our bath cabinets. Here's our OWN DIY project....Organizing Your Bath Cabinets For Maximum Use
Organizing Your Bath Cabinets For Maximum Use--After watching a kitchen makeover on HGTV one Sunday, I mentioned to my husband (who was about to reface the bathroom cabinets) that we needed to come up with an idea wherin we could access the back of the shelves in the undercabinet area, AND some way to access all the dead space under the sink area. In other words, Organizing Your Bath Cabinets For Maximum Use AND save some money by doing it ourselves!
My husband is an excellent woodworker (something he learned in high school in the 60's) and very creative and can measure properly. He designed large drawers (just like the custom cabinets in a kitchen) that pull out on runners, the whole way, which allowed me to not squat down, and to reach the back of the cabinet, in the dark (no lights inside bath cabinets). Now I just open drawer and pull out what I want, yeah! Organizing Your Bath Cabinets For Maximum Useage
The coup de grace are the cabinet doors under the sink....looks like two doors, right? Look again, they are fake doors attached to a very large double tiered drawer. It rolls out as one unit with lots of room in the bottom section for tall bottles of shampoo, mouth wash, hair dryers, and much more. We didn't have enough "stuff" left over to fill it up...yet :)
This is truy Organizing Your Bath Cabinets For Maximum Useage and it is what EVERY house that was built as a tract home needs. It is an inexpensive and nice looking way to improve your storage space.
Then, under the sink where there is usually a fake panel on the front of the cabinet, he designed and built this drawer to put items used daily within easy reach. It is cut out in the center to wrap around the plumbing:
We now have beautifully handmade, custom stained cabinets in our newly remodeld bathroom and I am a HAPPY homemaker too.
