BREAKING NEWS - New Titles for Prince William and Catherine

Just minutes ago, it was announced that Prince William and Catherine Middleton have been bestowed the titles of Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

Prince William has also been granted the titles of Earl of Strathearn (a Scottish title) and Baron Carrickfergus (an Irish title) while Catherine will be Countess of Strathearn and Baroness Carrickfergus.

Congratulations to the happy couple and best wishes on your future married life.

I don't think that the happy couple will be using their new titles "Baron and Baroness Carrickfergus" to often... unless it was my only title... I would stick with the "Duke and Dutchess of Cambridge." Carrickfergus just doesn't roll off the tongue very easily.

Hi Suzy - I read that the Irish and Scottish titles are intended to be used when the royal couple are in Ireland and Scotland, respectively.
