We Weathered the Alabama Storm: Thanks for Your Thoughtfulness
Wow is just about all that I can say. But following that, are my heartfelt thanks to all the ActiveRainers who sent text messages, emails and even a few phone calls to make sure I was okay.
Fortunately no member of my family was affected beyond power outages and I am both thankful and grateful for that.
The hardest hit communities (Pleasant Grove, Hueytown, Pratt City and Forestdale) surrounded my neighborhood of Fairfield, AL so we were very fortunately that Fairfield suffered no damage.
And while we survived the tornado, many didn't having lost lives, homes, memorabilia accumulated over a lifetime. It's all so overwhelming to take in.
This morning on the freeway, I saw a convoy of fire trucks and emergency vehicles apparently from another state so everyone is rallying to pitch in where needed as usual.
I'll be babysitting tomorrow as my daughter and other family members head to Tuscaloosa to pitch in to aid in the cleanup.
Hope my fellow Southeastern Rainers came out unscathed. I know that Ann Allen and Elizabeth "Coop" Cooper faired pretty well.
Thanks again ActiveRain family for you thoughts and prayers.
