A short while back I wrote about a listing that really brought out my inner-stager. It was a wonderful home, in a fantastic neighborhood, perfect for a young family to put down roots and build memories. The problem I saw was that it was outdated and that some buyers wouldn't see past these fixable issues and realize what a perfect home it could make them. I casually know the agent, but not well enough that I felt comfortable making any unsolicited suggestions. Well guess what? After an open house that had oodles of traffic and some showings not a nibble.... We ran into each other shopping and she asked me what I thought of the listing and said she thought maybe they could go with a staging!!! What a dream, both a seller and an agent who were open to suggestions. I'm so pleased. There will be some gentle tweaking of things, the biggest job will be done by a son-in-law of removing the outdated wallpaper and repainting in a really pretty neutral. Some things will be packed away to get move ready, and I've found some great accessories and hardware to update things. I'm so excited. And relieved. This is a big listing for her as she hasn't been doing this long and I think the sellers will get the results they're after! I can't wait to finish the job when the wallpaper and painting issues are done! Hope everyone has a great weekend! I'm going to take the free time I have today and use it to get my outdoor space spruced up and ready for another wonderful season of outdoor living.
Elizabeth it's great when clients finally get it. Hope the results make it sell!
Elizabeth, thanks for letting us know how it turned out! I"m so glad that the Realtor and the Seller approached you!
Congratulations on getting this staging job - sounds like it's a great opportunity for everyone. Can't wait to see the before/after photos and really hope you will post them! Good luck and have fun!
Ginger, thanks so much for your great advice, I plan on taking it as I learn my way around AR blogging.
Janice, it was really exciting to me that it's all falling into place, probably not so much for the family steaming wall paper on this gorgeous Saturday.
Kristine, Thank you, I think I've finally figured out how to post pics on here. I've been in serious withdrawl as I just got my laptop back from being serviced this afternoon and having been trying to navigate my way thru everything on my iPad. Great stagers tool though.
Hope all of you have a fantastic weekend!
Hi Elizabeth,
I would love to see before and after pics too! Pictures do speak 1000 words. Good luck with the job.
Lisa
Great news, it always work best when people "get it" and do the staging...and enjoy your afternoon !!!
