Did You Think Before You Cut Off Grandma In The Slow Lane?

Reblogger Carla Muss-Jacobs, RETIRED

This post by colleague Karen Fiddler has nothing to do with real estate.  But it touches us all since we are all . . . DRIVERS!!

How many people go through life cutting people off -- in one form or the other?  Not realizing that what they have done is a "cause and affect" of a terrible chain reaction

I have seen MORE AND MORE negative situations . . . negative people (and Karen calls them JERKS) create situations that leave  very real adverse reactions in their wake -- for YEARS!  Impacting lives and harming people.

WHY?  For the sake of "WINNING"?!?

For anyone who thinks that their callous, careless actions don't have an aftermath, I would suggest you read Karen's post.

I witnessed an accident today! A large white SUV was racing down the freeway and did the old "swerve right in front of the car it was wanting to pass to make the point" thing. Yeah ok, this made him a jerk....and then we saw something horrible, the car he bypassed slammed on the brakes and spun out, crashing into the wall.

She was fine...well, shaken up. Very scared and a bit confused. But physically, just fine.

We stopped to make sure..along with many others. And it has really bothered me all day.

This jerk.....who felt the need to make his point while he breezed down the fast lane....did he even think?

Did he think about the husband who had loved this woman for the last 60+ years? If he lost his wife?

Did he think about the 5 (Ok....I'm projecting since I have 5 myself) children who call her mom and bring rolls on holidays?

Did he think about the 10 grandchildren that look forward to her special chocolate cookies she always makes when they come visit?

Did he think about her friends at church? or in her girls poker club? or the man at the deli who always gave her a few extra slices for free?

Have you ever done that? I have....not proud of that. I've been that jerk. But never again! She said that she got confused when he raced by and just lost control. Maybe she had other things on her mind....but did she deserve this? No...she was just minding her own business.

Now her car is totaled
Now she was scared and unsure of herself

So I ask again....given the destruction left behind. Did you think before you cut off Grandma today?

Hi Krista . . .I'm sure the explanation of Karen that it was a senior citizen driving and not intentionally trying to annoy the JERK . . .you're right.

Hi Ralph Laraine -- Ralph, you drive???  :-)

Hey Brenda . . . the scenario is common with an impatient JERK and seniors.  I'm sure Karen appreciates your comments too!!

Hi Karen -- yes, we are touched!  As you described it, I can see it playing out, unfortunately.  Glad our Lady was okay.  Unfortunately, I'm sure she was quite shaken.

Carla, as I commented on Karen's post, I think jerks only see the vehilce and don't remember there's a person inside it. We need to remember there's somebody behind the wheel too...
