Mortgage Rates Hit Six-Week Low in Charlotte NC

Rates fell to a six-week low this week.

Per Freddie Mac, A 30-YR fixed-rate mortgage averaged 4.78% this week. That's down from 4.8% last week. A 15-YR fixed-rate mortgage fell to 3.97% which is down from 4.02% last week. While the 1-YR adjusted rate mortgage averaged 3.15% which is unchanged from the prior week.

If you are looking to buy ... what are you waiting for? Home prices in the Charlotte NC market fell 5% for the year ended in FEB. The FEB prices were 1.2% down from JAN. The price drop in the Charlotte NC market tied it for the 10th-largest among the 20 largest cities represented in the Case-Shiller Home Price Index. Case-Shiller's latest report show prices were lower in 19 of the 20 largest cities in FEB.
