Pay it Forward ~ picked up yucky trash at our local Veteran's Park in Ripon

Real Estate Agent with At Home Real Estate Group

Pay it Forward ~ picked up yucky trash at our local Veteran's Park in Ripon.  Today I just had to do it.  My son was so worried that I was going to get a disease from picking up garbage.  It was a small gesture to pick up the garbage.  Wads of toilet paper were in the baseball area of this park.  Not anymore. baseball field after picking up garbage

I'm hopeing that my 11 year old son took a valuable lesson away today.  That it's good to throw away trash that is not your own.

Good for you! Now you just need to learn to carry some of those thin plastic gloves in your pocket so your son won't have to worry about the germs!

A couple of summers ago when I was in town a lot I started going once a week or so to pick up trash at the skateboard park. It never failed to amaze me how much of it was on the ground alongside of the trash cans.

But one thing made me feel really good... one day when I got there the two youngest kids in the park came and asked if they could help. They were probably 8 or 10 years old. The teens just stood and watched or kept skating, but the little guys pitched right in.

Hi Christina - Yes, definitely use gloves! My friend walks her neighborhood everyday for an hour but she always uses gloves--you can never be too safe.  Excellent community spirit event!
