You Slept with WHAT???!!!
Titan Missile Museum Tours and Adventures in Tucson, AZ
I ran across this information in an email, and had to go to the website to confirm.
You may have slept in a tent.
You may have slept under the stars or in a hammock.
Perhaps you've slept in a stable.
But how about...bunking with a Missile.
Yep - with a 30 day advance reservation, you can replica the Titan II crew member experience with your own overnight stay, sleeping underground, a few feet from the largest United States Missile ever made, at the only missile site in the nation that is accessible by the public.
This party is for four, and the crew quarters are located at the Titan Missile Museum, just south of Tucson.
The er...adventure is offered four times yearly!
So if you're looking for something completely different, or long to experience all things historical first hand - here's one to share with three of your friends. You may email for more information at their website: www.titanmissilemuseum.org.
Take in 3-ton blast doors, silo walls eight feet thick, view the launch duct. You may visit the control center and experience a simulated launch as well.
One hour tours are available on most days of the year, beginning at 9 a.m until 4 p.m. They also offer top to bottom tours that encompass five hours, taking you through eight levels of the underground silo.
And then again, there's that opportunity to sleep with a missile.
Something to tell your grandchildren. Or maybe, something to do WITH your grandchildren...
