What you say, only four television channels, how did I survive in Northern Maine with out more of a TV fix?

maine fourth of july small townJust fine. Because I was not parked as a kid in front of the tube. Used an imagination outside and worked hard on a Maine farm.

Chores made me more responsible, part of the Maine farm family. Two channels on the television picked up off air from New Brunswick Canada.

Houlton Maine is parked right on the Canadian border of the New Brunswick province.

Another channel from WAGM TV 8 which was one of four "cherry pickers" in the country at the time.

Technically a CBS television affiliate. But able to pick the low hanging broadcasting fruit medley from ABC and NBC. To create a buffet of programming that satisfied rural Northern Maine.

Mister Rogers, Sesame Street beamed in on the Public Broadcasting Channel too. We lived in the country, there were no dishes, cable. Not enough subscribers per mile. And television not such a big part of our day maine aerial town phototo day other than news and a few episodes we followed weekly.

But going in to town to my Aunt Hettie's home on Franklin Avenue in Houlton Maine proper was a big deal.

Living color peacock this, variety of signals that. Causing channel surfing trigger finger blisters.

It was like a kid in the candy store around the holidays when we shared a meal. Now media is everywhere, wall to wall. Signals so plentiful, intense that you can practically pick them up with just the fillings in your teeth.

As a real estate professional that wants to create lots of signals and beam them, intensify marketing creations to reach further, louder, stronger. All the time. It means blogging here on Active Rain, another Maine blog or two or three with different slants, audiences. But media does not stop at your real estate website one and two and three, and those few pretty blogs. Video is one slick way to use the eyes and ears and deliver real estate or local community andrew mooers photoevents. Like a meal set before you all sliced up, the plate all ready to dine on with butter baked potato, grilled to perfection seared steak with the sizzle, full of flavor.

Marketing real estate these days, the media box has way way more than 8 crayons in it.

When we advertise our Maine land in many specific sites, suddenly those sites have 350 other partner sites from Mother Earth News, Field and Stream and the list does on and on. So replication and what we called translator broadcast stations to beef up where the primary signal is weak. Like gasing up the Honda generator at camp to get a little juice to run those power tools.

So you don't have to hand saw or try doing finish carpentry firing up the chain saw.

So when you read an AR blog post and think okay, this cat in Maine has probably a real estate website and that just about ties it up other than a Facebook, Twitter and a handful of other pages like Linkedin, well, no. There is much more. Photos. Google us.

Toggle the signature live and hot sites below we weed and feed too. Along with Realtordotcom, Zillow, Truila to name a few others. Saturation with 76 social media platforms is a good start on getting the word out about low cost Maine real estate. To spread the word out about, the neat communities in Maine I am privledged, proud to serve.

Growing up, we sometimes had 3 channels and sometimes none.. Captain Kangaroo, Mickey Mouse, all seems to mild to what is on TV now.

Judi ... you had the rabbit ears and had to hold your mouth just right to adjust them to pick off a signal that might or might not come in. Cartoons were just a Saturday happening too. Not round the clock broadcast fare.

When I was already grown up and starting my own family we had only one channel. And when they switched from ABC to NBC all hell was raised. But there was never a shortage of things to do in northern Minnesota. So much like Maine. Filled with loons and other other-worldly magic. The great outdoors.

Andrew. You have a great style and presentation. I like the keyword and tech packed content and of course I love Maine.

Glenn ... When you only have vanilla it makes it hard when they change the flavor to grape nut. I think Minnesota is a lot like Maine.

Charles ... Thank you very much. Everyone needs to harness the media streams! Or die on the vine wearing a rusted, corroded "R".
