As a Realtor I spend my days helping people realize that living on Lake Oconee is the best place in the world to be. With Lake Oconee as my canvas, it's not a hard picture to paint, I assure you. After six months in a condo, this past weekend my fiance, Drew, and I moved into our own lakefront property. Now I can start living the lifestyle I so often talk about! Perfect timing too as warmer days seem here to stay. In recent weekends activity on the lake has picked up dramatically. Our nine award winning golf courses around the lake have been packed and boat engines are cranking up and knocking off the winter's dust. There is no better way to spend a Saturday or Sunday afternoon than lounging on the dock or riding around the lake hanging with friends and family.
Over 390 miles of shoreline set across 19,000 acres, there is something here on Lake Oconee for everybody. More often than not I hear home owners talk about how they initially purchased here with the intention of it being a second home or vacation spot. Then the more they came they realized that on Sunday afternoon they weren't ready to go back home and before they knew it they were living here full time. Conveniently located an hour east of Altanta and an hour west of Augusta, it's the perfect weekend getaway spot where you have plenty of things to do to keep you entertained without the hussel and bussel of a big city.
