We're 12 hours older since the news began to leak about his death and I'm already starting to hear it... Cries from main stream media show hosts and financial market cheerleaders that the death of Osama Bin Laden will eliminate uncertainty in the economy and deliver stability in the financial markets and even housing.
Make no mistake about it; This is a massive, historical event for our country, our service men and women and our allies, symbolically if nothing else. It shows our unquestionable resolve and fortitude and an example to the rest of the world, absolutely. But, all too often, our society looks for these magic pills as a cure-all for our troubles and I worry that, at least early on, we're reading this news in that fashion as we ride an emotional rocketship. What do you think? Will our economic recovery hasten? Will jobs and housing improve more quickly now? Or, are we looking for more our of this than it is?
