CHASE RECOMMENDS CERTIFIED DISTRESSED PROPERTY EXPERT AGENT (CDPE) TO SELLERS

I do a lot of CHASE short sales, so I wasn’t surprised when one of their customers called me, but what I was very pleasantly surprised with, is the mention of the CDPE designation in the letter CHASE sent to their customer.

CHASE is the second-largest bank in the US, and it makes me think that they are having a good experience with CDPEs to go as far as to instruct their distressed sellers to specifically contact a CDPE agent for their short sale.

It shows a lot of support and trust on CHASE’s part, and I believe it gives the CDPE designation even more credibility.

Bravo to CHASE for reaching out to their borrowers! Now if only the rest of the lenders would get this proactive.

Pamelyn - CHASE won the "MOST IMPROVED LENDER" award in my office last year. They really have gotten their act together and it shows. Congratulations on your REO listing and closing - wish you get many more.

Hi Patty! I believe in this market it is imperrative to become a Certified Distressed Property Expert (CDPE)! Agents out there must be educated so that they can educate the community and help close more short sale deals! There should NEVER be a home foreclosure!! People foreclose because they don't think they have any options! Thanks again Patty!!

Every lender ought to recommend this training....it demonstrates that training is were it's at.....and short sales are a trained skill....not a mention in a sales meeting.

This is awesome. I'm really hoping the rest of the lenders take the heads out of the sand and follow Chase's example. It'd make things much easier and quicker.

Nona - CHASE is being proactive making is a win-win situation for both CHASE and the homeowners.

Sally - Ditto! Training is so important!

Marianna - I hear that other lenders will follow CHASE's lead and will be issuing similar letters.

Yes, Chase is doing an awsome service by implementing this letter to their customers. I received a call from one who had already moved out of state and unfortunately, if you can believe it, opted to not follow through and just let the home go, sad.

I was called by a representative from Chase earlier in the year. He asked if I want to be on the list of agents for referral by them as I am CDPE. Of course I said yes, but haven't any prospect as a result yet. Citibank is doing something similar I believe.

Patty, I have a number of designations. I think all are important and signify the extra time, money and effort I have spent to acquire a higher level of skills that many of the Realtors. CDPE is the designation that I most value. It is an excellent course that teaches very practical skills that are extremely important in today's challenging market.

Aaron - The evidence does not lie right?

Michael - I am in agreement, CHASE is doing a great job.

Tom - I am glad to hear CITI is also being proactive.

John - I cant argue with you as I have numerous designations myself and I find the CDPE to be the most valuable.

Very interesting Patty, this is certainly a move in the right direction. I'm also fascinated by the offer to your client of $30,000. That's a nice sum, are you able to share with us what circumstances induced the bank to offer this kind of a workout?

Hi Beth,

CHASE is sending letter offering $10,000, $20,000 and $30,000 to sellers who successfully participate in a short sale. I am unsure of the method CHASE uses to select the clients who they send the letters to. I agree, CHASE is certainly moving in the right direction - I hear (and hope) that other lenders will follow.

This is great news Patty!  I was a bit surprised to see that Chase is offering up to $30,000 to a select number of sellers.  This is almost unheard of.  I am currently in the middle of a short sale nightmare with a large bank right now.  They could certainly take a lesson from Chase.  Honestly, they could take a lesson from any bank.  It's just a nightmare!  Thanks for sharing.

Beth - Let's see what happens - but they are certainly moving in the right direction.

Lisa - I think I could guess which lender you are talking about... I think the first word of its name is BANK...

Are you guys sure about this?
Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of the CDPE designation, but are you sure Chase was referring specifically to CDPE?

Chase media relations claims ignorance and is checking it out.  Senior management claims ignorance and is checking it out.  If true, promote the heck out of it.

Chris - I am absolutely sure - you must have not had a chance to read the letter attached to the post prior to making the above comment.

The letter reads:

"Start your search as soon as possible. Look for a Certified Distressed Property Expert Agent. These agents have experience working with mortgage companies...."
