Little Timber Quilts and Candy, I was out Shop Hoppin!

What's a Shop Hop?  For Quilt Shops in Montana, it's a 3 week adventure designed to get us out of town to visit other Quilt Shops around our really Big State of Montana.

Little Timber Quilts

Last week my friend Lori and I took off to the West and one of our favorite stops was the Little Timber Quilts Shop.  I was amazed at the number of quilts hanging all around, these people must be obsessed, and highly productive.

Of course I made a few purchases, I love fabric, and I'm not afraid to buy it.

Quilting is very popular in Montana and we have some really talented quilters.  I also attend a Quilting Guild about once a month just to bask in the light of some of these fantastic artists.

Fabric and sewing have been a part of my existance since I was in High School.  I now tease that quilting is cheaper than psychotherapy!  Very helpful during times of PMS (earlier days) and now comforting for the family during hot flashes.  Sorry if that's too much information!

Ceiling hung rolling ladderHave a look at the ladder this shop uses to hang those quilts so high on the wall.  I really wanted to get on that thing and take it up and down the shop.  Not sure where they got this thing, maybe at a library?  The ladies that helped us explore were very nice, and busy.  We found 2 ladies in the back workroom whipping up a quilt on a huge table.  I wanted to join in, but alas, we had more quilt shops to visit this day.

Below is another picture of the colorful quilts we found in this really nice store.

Enjoy!

Wanda, I could Shop Hop till I dropped.   I just love looking at fabrics and enjoy finding stores that have unusual prints.  Sounds like a fun tradition you have going.  And no not too much info, hand work seems to save many women from the swings in hormones.  It is great to see the beautiful creations made by very patient women.

How high up was that sliding ladder?

Hi Wanda - My wife would love to shop hop with you and Gloria.  Quilting is one of her passions, though she finds little time for it these days.  Her fabric quip is that she stores it all on the north wall of the house which helps to insulate from the cold.

Oh, that's better than a candy store! I wish I could shop hop, too! Have you read Jennifer Chiaverini's books? They all have to do with a group of quilters. I love them!
