So this is why women don't make as much as men

I read this article this morning in disbelief. An elected official (and yes...a woman), Sally Kern an Oklahoma Representative explains that women don't make as much as men because they don't work as hard. This post is not real estate related except that it makes me thankful that we are independent contractors and no longer part of the corporate pay disparity syndrome. Still, after after reading thins, I just had to say something.

Talk about sexism and setting women back a coupla' decades. Sheesh. Apparently this gal has not read any of the statistics that show that women not only often work harder then men at their jobs but then they go home and do most of the house hold work and child rearing tasks. No wonder they're exhausted.

Here's the information from our gal Sally.

So ladies,....if you want to make more money just get off your butts and stop thinking so much about your family and other stuff. It's not sexism or corporate policy issues, you're just not workin' as hard as you could.

And women aren't the only lazy folks out there. Read her comments. You'll probably be as startled as I was.

What do you think folks?

Jane- It sounds like Sally Kern is in a time warp.  How sad that she thinks so little of her working Sisters to make such a remark.  I hope more women in her district learn about her remarks before she comes up for re-election.

Makes me wonder, and makes me think that a person with such opinions can get elected to do anything.

@Mercedes: It does make you worry about how these folks get elected in the first place.
