Downsizing and moving for seniors in Fairfield County CT.
Yesterday I received a call from a Stamford, CT. woman asking if we at Turning Point Estate Services could also help her. She had seen the recent article in the Connecticut newspapers about how we help executors and trustees with closing down an estate. She was concerned that due to her unfortunate circumstance of being still alive and well, we would be disinterested in helping her with plans to downsize from her Fairfield County CT. home.
This, my faithful readers, could not be further from the truth. I take no joy from the passing of a man, though I have quite enjoyed reading the obituaries of a few. (Mark Twain). We will indeed help in this situation.
The process of downsizing has many similarities with estate closure. There is an abundance of personal property items that need to be disbursed, donated, sold or otherwise dealt with. There is the matter of the home that will need to be repaired, prepared and cleaned up in preparation for sale. The property needs to be spruced up and the grounds still need to be maintained on a regular basis until sold.
I assured this fine woman that we can indeed provide an assist with all of the items mentioned above as well as help with planning the move itself. As she will have drastically less square footage, we can work with her to decide what items can go with her and, what has to stay behind.
I am very thankful for the article about us in the paper but, this is not the first inquiry we have received thinking we only worked where someone had passed away. Tell everyone you know.
We can help, even if you feel just fine.
