Hi Wanda, Snow pack levels and spring thaw were a big topic of conversation in our office today as we face the same scenario.  Must say, though, your mom in law's cabin looks like it will be gorgeous come spring!

Hey, Wanda and Brenda~ Please keep the snow where it is for a bit. We are drowning here in Missouri. In less than a month, Cape Girardeau has had over 20 inches of rain; and that has pushed the Missouri River, the Mississippi River, and the Ohio River to near historic and historic levels. The blast in the Birds Point Levee on the Mississippi only bought us a few days and a few inches. If your snow melts fast or we get more rain in the watershed, the rivers will rise again. May you have sprinkles of sunshine mixed in with still cold temperatures!

@Brenda, I remember when we had flooding and it stopped the highway traffic up north for a week or more.  We've been so dry for so many years I think people are ill prepared.

@Liz, So far it looks like our temperatures will only max out at 70 degrees one day for the next week, that's good for you, or at least better.  My heart goes out to everyone who has to deal with flooding, it's such a horrible disaster.  Keep your powder dry!
