After rubbishing the rumors that she was pumping money into a gigantic penthouse in the West Village for close to $15 million, Jennifer Anniston went on looking for the ideal apartment that she could call home in her favorite city. Well, she may just have found it...or rather them.
That’s right, them! Not happy with the idea of buying only one apartment in Manhattan, she has put down money on two of them. Yup, in a city where dreaming about buying an apartment, or even half an apartment, is considered audacious, she’s picked up two like you and I would go and buy a pair of socks.

Located at 299 West 12th Street, Aniston has bought the apartments on the 17th and 18th floors. While individually, neither of these one-bedroom apartments might be enough to stock Rachel Greene’s extensive wardrobe, together they make a whopping 2,700 square feet.
The lower apartment – the one on the 17th floor – is a beautiful example of a prewar structure. Priced at $1.8 million, this apartment has been described as having “ample closets, a working wood-burning fireplace, high-beamed ceilings, picture moldings, hardwood floors, and a generously-proportioned bedroom".

The apartment above belonged to “the-hairstylist-to-celebrities” Sally Hershberger. In addition to a humongous 900-square foot terrace, it also has really big casement windows in every room and an exotic roof terrace, beautifully designed, providing breath-taking views of Empire State Building, the New York Harobor, and several Manhattan attractions. I’d say the price tag of $5.9 million for this place might boggle the brain but it is justified.

The obvious conjecture that most people are drawing from this double-buying spree is that svelte and sexy Aniston plans to combine both to make a small (?) and cozy home for herself. There may be something in that. For the moment, I am sure she’s spending a few quiet and quality moments by herself in her new apartment, excited to come back to the city she is so fond of. Echoing her enthusiasm and love for the Big Apple, Jennifer Anniston said recently, “I grew up here. I miss it. There is nothing like being in the city that is just the city of Everyman. It's all walks of life. I love that." Welcome back, Aniston.
