Minks to Sinks, a Wilton, CT. treasure trove.
Twice a year, in the spring and fall, we here in Wilton, CT. are host to a monumental bargain hunting event. Under the big tents down by the schools on route 7, Minks to sinks draws in the curious and thrifty alike for a long weekend (Saturday 5/7-Monday 5/9) of treasure hunting.
Well stocked by the VERY generous donations from our town of Wilton residents and the surrounding communities, just as the name implies, here is a place where you can find ALMOST anything. From furniture to dishware, toys to sporting goods, books, music, clothing....the list of what you may not find here would actually be shorter.
Here is a fine way to de-clutter you home. What better way to accomplish this than by giving back to the community at the same time? All donations are sold to benefit The Family and Children's Agency of Norwalk CT.
Given the current economic climate, the secondary markets like eBay, Craigs List etc..., are flooded with the type of household items that come from clearing out an estate or household. Items that used to sell briskly, and for a profit, are not doing as well these days. We ask our clients to consider the charitable donation route. Here at Turning Point Estate Services, we have used Minks to Sinks as one of many charitable donation options for our clients. A tax deduction can be a form of "found money" for many of us.
So, if you are in need of clearing out some (or all) of those gently used material goods, here is a place you can do just that, and do a world of good at the same time. As for those of you who are planning on selling your home, an integral part of repairing and preparing your Fairfield County CT. home for market is to remove the clutter. But, you knew that already. Do the right thing.
