Hey Nancy,

I just started a newsletter service for agents this month (I'm also a broker and use the service myself).  We sent out the premiere issue yesterday, and it appears to be a hit so far.  We're getting tons of positive feedback.  You can check it out here or at my AR blog.  Let me know what you think.

Hi Nancy,

I've been using SFL newsletter for the past 4 years.  It has done a tremendous job for my business.  Years into it I am getting solid leads/referrals almost every month.  Total cost including the monthly CD, postage, printing/stuffing, and envelopes paper average about $225 a month.  Postage may vary depending on how many you send out.  I send about 250.

It is a commitment.  The biggest key is to CONSISTENTLY send it out monthly.  My goal is to always have it mailed by the 1st day of the month.  I've been extremely satisfied with SFL.

Best of luck,

Ryan Russell

I have been sending it out for over a year and have had a great response. I think it is truly just keeping in front of people on a regular basis. It is very time consuming for me as I do it all myself - Ryan, do you have someone do this for you? Hey Ryan! Its funny we both came to the same blog :) I guess people with the same birthdays think alike. I have been considering changing to a different newsletter.

I am like Ryan and have been sending out for a few years now.  I do have a great following, but I also know that many people do not read it, either.  I recently started sending it via email as a PDF file.  Before I did that, I look an informal poll and some people said that they preferred reading a hard copy.  However, when I sent out a notice in my last paper newsletter saying that I could print out a few each month for those who truly preferred it, no one asked, so I send it all own via email now and it saves me a ton of money.  I have about 250 email addresses and I am still calling my old clients to get those emails.  I used to dread that time of the month because for the most pasrt I did it myself and it took time, but now it's a lot easier.  I've even increased the prizes for the monthly trivia quiz and people seem to enjoy that.  There are also a couple places that will print it and send it for you for a reasonable price.

Good luck!

David
