The Ultimate Question

I am constantly asked "Is your business being affected by everything that is happening in the industry now?" It's not really the question that concerns me however it is the manner of which it is asked.  Sometimes I hear theme music playing in the background of the individual that posed the question which coordinates with their facial expression as if to give me a condolence card and a box of Kleenex after they hear my long drawn out answer of hardship and tribulation which would most likely allow them to share there tales of woe. So in the spirit of that question I decided to contribute my answer online to all of my passionate colleagues.

"Are you serious, of course my business is affected.  I've learned more about my business during this period than almost any other time.  I have come up with some of the most creative marketing ideas and campaigns to assist with attracting new clients.  My customer service levels have increased way beyond my expectations.  I am also spending more time networking and building key and lasting relationships with people I care about.  I am exercising more and eating a lot healthier and I do not eat as much fast food as I use to.  I'm working on my second book and my first book is moving at an incredible speed online and in stores. I have been able to adjust my referral pool to the core 20% that generates 80% of my referrals and my clients are people who actually can qualify and those who don't appreciate me helping them to qualify.  My business is great, how has your business been affected?"

You better believe that answer changed the theme music.

Great blog.  I commend you on doing these things in a slow market.  Everytime I talk to a Realtor about learning Short Sales I think to myself "Why would they not want to educate themselves while they have the time?"  Now is the time to do everything you wanted to when the market was chaos.  Being able to adjust and use your time to better your business will long benefit you in the future.

Maybe when I hold a seminar on Short Sales in Atlanta you could attend.  You seem like the person to take in all the education you can get.  I mean for heaven sakes it just increases the amount of business you can have.  Who wouldn't want to do that?

Good Luck to you!
