Networking far and wide (and other things)

As far as local real estate goes, Altus is a pretty solid market in a good, stable military (USAF) town.  It's got a lot to offer and a LOT of beautiful new homes going up, both in town and on the outskirts.

How I see this all pertains to networking is that we have a lot of servicemembers who come in and out oF Altus, whether they deploy in and out or PCS in and out.  Many people are stationed here more than once and several ultimately retire here.  I have taken the streets to talk to people, be it through Facebook or in person.  I have met people who are deployed and coming back, moving here, about to leave here, etc.  I feel I am getting the word out there about myself, even through the referrals I am doing of friends who are PCSing to other bases and need a Realtor there to find them a home.  I have gone to Rainmaker on here, I've set up a Facebook business page, and I'm pricing and looking at other sites (suggestions welcome).

I am also doing BPOs and I am now on my 5th one in about the past 2 1/2 weeks since I started doing them.  I am hoping to garner a listing or 2 from them if they go into REO status.  I would like to get more into the REO listings and eventually get into investing, personally, and flip a few homes here in Altus.

Some of my sales are several months off in the future, but I feel very positive about my future in Real Estate here in Altus.  I will never give up on my dreams and I will continue to make more dreams and goals as my career goes on.

I'll be glad to be a support to you, as well!  I'm a novice, still, but I'm building up a little more each and every day!

Renae - Sounds like you are taking all of the right steps to become very successful. I did BPOs for a couple of years. I finally realized that the pay was not worth the time I put into them. "Most" of the time I didn't get the listings, even though the companies who called me said that there was a good chance I would. So, I spent a couple of hours for little money ($45 to $55). Had I taken that valuable time and written letters to Expired or Withdrawn prospects or just sent letters to members of various subdivisions I would have made out far better. I don't do any BPOs now. My time is so precious. I hope the BPOs work out for you though. You seem like a hard worker and that's a good thing. Good luck.

Mickey ~

I'm learning QUICK on BPOs that most of them are not worth my time and headache and I'm already beginning to limit myself on them.

I am already getting very busy with buyers now and I hopefully soon with sellers, if my constant persistance pays off.

Thanks for your encouragement!  If nothing else, the BPOs have been good experience and I'm sure I'll still do a few here and there.

Renae - I'm confident that your persistence will pay off. Your persistence, and practicing the basics, (BPOs and learning to properly price properties) will insure your success. Good luck to you.
