Three Things I'm Thankful for This Thursday

rooster crowing at sunrise

It seems like every single day comes a little faster.  When I open my eyes in the morning and look at the day ahead, every thing is spread out before me and the possibilities are endless.  Then I blink my eyes and it's dinner time!

Here in Colorado, we have had a bear of a spring.  (Granted, we haven't had one of those snowstorms that buries us, but it has been known to snow as late as June around here!)  It has been rainy and windy too many days to count.

Until this week.  Just this morning, the calm air and bright sunshine literally made me stop in my tracks and look around.  Here are three things I noticed that made me thankful this day:

1. The smell of lilacs.  It has been so windy around here that just breathing has been tricky, but today I actually smelled the lilacs.  It's such a spring smell- sunshine on lilacs.

2. A peaceful neighborhood.  As I stood in my yard, I appreciated my little sanctuary from the world.  I also realized that the only sounds I could hear were birds chirping and a distant lawnmower whining.

3. Working in the Cloud.  I would've loved to sit there all day and day dream, but alas, there is always work to do!  This day, I was on the move, but with my trusty laptop and the ol' internet super-highway, I can take my work with me just about anywhere.

Enjoy your day, everyone!

Jennifer your list is perfect.  I need to move to your neighborhood... I live behind a pizza parlor so the smell while quite delish is not of lilacs :)

Jennifer, no way, is it Thursday already?

I'm with you; I LOVE the little things; so thankful that I get to wake up to the birds chirping.

As I was reading your blog I was smelling the lilacs, enjoying the neighborhood and flying in the clouds with you. You created a good visual blog with your words.

My son lives in Boulder and my duaghters family is moving to Boulder this summer. I guess I am next!

My days also go by so quickly! My daughter went to school in Denver for 4 years. What a great area you live in!  I take note of what I am grateful for a beautiful sunrise, family, friends & yes, the benefits of being a realtor.

Jennifer...I love the smell of Lilac, right now my Lilac and Wisteria are in bloom and they smell lovely. We live on the outskirts of town and normally in the mornings I hear the birds, frogs and a few yappy dogs. It would be nice to be able to sit, listen, smell and drink coffee most of the morning but you're right you blink your eyes and it's dinner time. The older I get the faster time travels!

Jennifer, our lilacs are just about to leaf out, so we won't have that fragrance for a few weeks yet! But it is lovely when we're sitting on the deck or in the hot tub late at night watching the stars...*sigh* :)

My lilacs aren't even close to blooming. I can't wait as it has been a very cold spring in MN.

Colorado is lovely but a little on the cold side. FL is more to my taste although I dread the HOT summer that will soon be upon us.
